Every woman’s pregnancy symptoms are different and even vary from pregnancy to pregnancy. The best way to be sure that you are pregnant is to take a pregnancy test. Always contact your OBGYN or physician for more insight into your reproductive health. The most common signs of pregnancy are:

  • Missed period
  • Tender, swollen breasts
  • Nausea with or without vomiting
  • Increased urination
  • Fatigue or frequent sleepiness

Other symptoms are:

  • Mood swings
  • Headaches
  • Backaches
  • Darkening of nipple areas
  • Bloating
  • Food aversions or cravings
  • Light spotting

You can start to feel any of these symptoms as early as the week of conception.

Q: If I’m not pregnant, then why haven’t I had my period?

A: Other possible reasons why you could have missed your period are hormonal shifts, a change in hormonal birth control, tension or stress, excessive weight gain or loss, various illnesses, a job change, an abusive relationship, breastfeeding, etc. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your physician or OBGYN if you suspect a major change in your cycle.
